Anyone's clock ever run out super fast?

I just played a 5 min blitz game. I didn't look at my clock, but after 8 moves my opponent had 4:39 and I lost with 0:00...! We were moving at the same pace. Must be a glitch. He had nothing to say in chat.
Never happened to me before with thousands of games played.
Anyone ever have this happen?
