Apps for pgn viewing?

Hi,

can anyone tell me any good apps from the appstore for the iphone which will enable me to view pgn files.

I have found a few but the only way to get pgn files onto the app are to give the link of an FTP.    What does this mean?

Here's an FTP link that has pgn games.  It's the world famous Univeristy of Pittsburgh site, which someday I hope to see them update:

ftp://ftp.pitt.edu/group/student-activities/chess/PGN/

There are several subfolders from that main folder.  For example, for a link of pgn games sorted by opening, click the Openings FTP link, which is:

ftp://ftp.pitt.edu/group/student-activities/chess/PGN/Openings/

The games at this site, however, are zipped up.  Not sure if that is convenient for you.  You would probably have to unzip them first, unless your app can read the games directly from zip files.  (Some GUIs can.  Scid vs. PC, SCID, and ChessBD can open and read compressed gz files.)

My favorite app for going through games is the ICC's offline .pgn viewer, it's swift and entering variations is simple.

For what it is worth,if you can access the information with your desktop/laptop, you can use the free windows program called notepad. You simply hold the left mouse button and drag to highlight any information(pgn, fen string) you want to gather and open notepad, click into the blank window, then right click once the cursor appears, then select paste. Once you enter it here you can easily view, store, email, or enter the info into puzzles, etc.
