Aaron, you actually bring up a good point. The truth though is that many titled players actually play less tournament chess, while the average club player is doing thier local rated quad games each weekend players like Kramnik hardly do any rated games all year.
Shut your faces idiots!
Ah!! The face of a child says it all.
Especially... the mouth part of the face.
To spend so much time studying a game, I wonder if they must have a more addictive personality than the average person. Hence, maybe someone with ADD (not ADHD) would be more likely to become one.
On the other hand, people who get PhDs or become doctors probably are not off, and they go through as much work.
Maybe the opposite is true: Maybe people with addictive personalities are less likely to become grandmasters because they can't balance their schedule right or don't have the concentration to not only stay on task but also to choose a task that will get them to their goal more efficiently.
Maybe Class B players are the people who love the game and gobble up many problems and play games in an inefficient manner, never getting better. But grandmasters take a step back and figure out the most efficient way to get better, and then stick to that with discipline.
