Karl Benz invented the motor car. Michael Schumacher was a formula one champion.Therefor Germans are good drivers in much the same way Indians are good at chess.
Unless the answer is 12G then I will go with that.

The previous champion (singular) was from India.
The previous champions (plural, suggesting a majority of past champions) were from Russia.
Nationality doesn't make a good player. When a nation has many good players it means they have even more bad players... what I mean is they take many thousands of children, teach them chess, and discard anyone without talent. This is how the old Soviets did it, this is how I assume China does it today (and they've produced many elite players).
If you are from India, you'll probably never be a GM.
If you are from Russia, China, United States, or any other nation, you'll probably never be a GM.
Most people will never be a GM 
Your nationality doesn't make you good.
Some human beings are good at chess some not. Some Indian players are good at chess some not.

I certainly wouldn't want to sit across from an Indian. They are not fair skinned people and I certainly wouldn't want to look like an Indian.
