Are indians good chess players

I am from India and I think there are good players in every country. In India very few people knows about chess,out of these few very few are good at chess. In India everyone is crazy about cricket and the Govt also give the country's highest award 2 a cricketer but not a chess genius like Anand.

According to some data, Russia has the highest number of Chess players, followed by India, Germany, Spain, France, Iran, Poland, Italy, Turkey and United States. 

This data is from FIDE’s official website of total number of rated players. If you count the total registered players, then India leads followed by Russia.

some indians are good, some are bad. it doesn't go any deeper than that. they don't inherently play different than other countries.

Well, if I am not mistaken, India invented chess, the chess world champion is Indian, and we will have two. Indians women in the world cup 2025 finals...
