His strategy seems to be working.
It seems like one would have to know theory pretty well in order to get a position that would be drawish but still playable.
Is it possible that you have made it out a bit too simply?
Are Magnus Carlsen games really didactic?

I've watched many carlsen games, I understand that he is a positionel player and he is not aggressive and sharp,there are many positione players like Karpov that were true learning treasures,but I think that Carlsen is just playing for getting a position that would be drawish but he would play better and win!What about that he is not playing main lines and study oppenings a little??
