are there any sources on how GMs make plans?

Something a GM told me while playing Pai Gow poker at a tournament in Reno, Nevada is that they look for imbalances or weaknesses in a position and develop a game plan on how to take advantage of that or those imbalances.

Then you need to find a GM that you will need to pay to tell you how he decides on moves, or you can play a GM for lessons or you can search online to see if a GM has published something online.

I bet there are hundreds of videos on Youtube and elsewhere.
To test my idea, on YT I tried chess gm plans, and the results were pretty meh. Then I modified the search to chess planning and there you go.

You need to put in the effort to search for what youre looking for. If youre not willing to do that or just waiting for someone to do the work for you it cant be very important to you.

Im not trying to be harsh, but experience has taught me that when people put in their own effort on things they appreciate it as opposed to just having someone hand them the answers.

Too many GMs worry about dinner plans. Noom even has pescovegetarian options. Don't listen to the bunny, listen to a former world champ.

They generally plan based on pawn structures. Clearly, other factors too but pawn structures are a giant part of it.

Famous book is "Think Like A Grandmaster" by Alexander Kotov.
