itrenix,
I have been a Mac user since 2007. I finally bought a Dell laptop to support my chess hobby. I have Chessbase with Megadatabase, and Fritz 17. You cannot get these programs for Mac. You may have to bite the bullet. However, if you are primarily using the web, the Mac will be fine. Chessbase even has a subscription for it's online apps. ICC has some GUIs for Mac that are decent.
Good luck!
After further research over the last couple weeks, I can’t believe what little options there are for MacBook/iMac users.
No DGT board support.
Also, what database/analysis software that does exist seems either very limited to chessbase software, or they have very ugly outdated GUIs in my opinion.
Just wondered if there are many serious chess hobbyists out there using Mac products.
Makes me want to give it a go at developing my own modern Mac app as a side project as I have experience in development, however, the goal was to put more time into my chess studies!
Thanks
