Arena GUI Question

Ha ha, it's a tricky one. It's not in the menu system. It's located on the Navigation bar at the bottom of the Moves List window!

Use Stockfish. It's awesome. :) Use the one where you can download it to your phone. It's only for anaysis, not for engine.
I already have Shredder on my phone, and the online download is only an engine and it does not provide a user interface, so there is no reason to get it. I am content with the Rybka engine I am using
it's only like $8. I'm sure Stockfish is good also. when buying an engine, I wasn't aware that Stockfish was available for Android so I just bought Shredder. I am happy with it though the interface is very nice.

My friend has Shredder. He says he uses it for tactics and anaylsis. He told me Stockfish was the best. And said it has also for a great engine. I have it on my phone, and I could only use analysis. Please check out my forum: http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/how-to-use-stockfish. :)

Is Stockfish better than Rybka? I got the Rybka engine for free
The latest version of Stockfish is much stronger than Rybka.
You can have more than one engine, you know. Download as many as you can, and install all of them in your favorite GUI. Everyone should have the free versions of Houdini, Crafty, Stockfish, Komodo, Critter, Gull, etc., etc., etc.
it's Rybka version 2.3.2a, and it apparently has about a 3000 elo. I am aware that other engines like stockfish and houdini are stronger. I tried to download Stockfish once before but it wouldn't run on the GUI I have for some reason. I was thinking about downloading Komodo

Rybka 2.3.2a is OK, but it misreports the ply depth and node count, apparently done on purpose in an attempt to hide the true nature of the engine from other programmers. I stopped using Rybka a while back for that very reason.
Stockfish should install in any major GUI.
Komodo 5 only runs at full strength. Good for analysis, but not so good for playing against. Komodo 4 does have LimitStrength, but in Arena at low strength levels, it consistently lost on time - basically unusable at the low levels.
well I don't want to use any engine to play against. the only thing I use engines for are analysis. I downloaded Stockfish 5 but when I try to install it it says "invalid command line"

For analysis only, any of those mentioned should be OK, as long as you don't care that Rybka lies about the ply depth and node count (node count is not very meaningful, anyway).
Are you happy with Rybka, or are you also soliciting help with the Stockfish install? (If so, we'd need more details of the installation attempt - GUI, detailed steps, etc.)

I used to just have Stockfish free on my iPhone. It was only good because I could analize my games instead of using Chess.com. But people told me it was an engine. I just not sure about that...
I recently downloaded the Arena GUI and I also have a Rybka engine on it, but how do I simply analyze a game without playing against the engine? It just keeps making moves and all I want it to do is analyze and evaluate
