I do not agree. the titles WIM WGM WFM exists because there are so few women that play chess. By giving them titles make them more visible that there are indeed women that play chess and other women can have players to look up to and maybe start playing chess themself.

It's simple to me. Women possibly have the same capabilities to play chess as men. However, far less women play chess than men which is why the men's player pool is much bigger compared to the women's player pool, and therefore why the best chess players of the world are men and only a tiny handful of women have ever managed to break into the top scene.
I love women, and the ones that play chess and are good at it, I love even more.

lol it is real simple math, there are far more grand master females now-a-days than there were a few dacades ago and the internet will only produce many more; BUT...
there will never ever be as a percentage as many female top players as males, this is due to the nature of chess and biology...
To become a top player you need many skills plus usually aggorance, huge ego, self opinionated and it often helps to have companion skills such as a SERIOUS drinker !!!
And, simply the majority of females simply lack these traits and lack the desire to develop these traits, ( but i do know serious female drinkers but they do not play chess ) ;)
Aronian is rarely totally serious, but the thing about women not being able to play chess is a very common theme in many places. Just read for example the report from Chess-news.ru on the Shimanov vs Kamsky King's Gambit in the latest round of the World Cup:
"If only checking the game without looking at the names of the opponents, one may describe everything happening on the board with only two words: 'women's chess'. Emil Sutovsky asked through his Facebook page if there is any classical game between top-level GMs with so many blunders. There's still no answer to his question."
