The most similar one is probably opposite castle

Play real openings.

Study them deeply

Read a lot of chess books. Play the variations over the board. Do a lot of tactics on ChessTempo. Analyze your mistakes from your games, especially your losses.

Over the past year I’ve been improving at chess a decent rate. The only ever times I’ve “plateaued” is when I didn’t have time or didn’t spend time on chess. I’m expecting to hit 1800 by the end of July (it’s likely I could push to that rating now but have decided to spend my time studying instead). I’ve been able to keep myself improving by spending a few days thinking really hard about chess as a whole and how I play it. This method of self-reflection lets me see what I need to work on and how I need to work on it. My question is, do you think I would be able to continue to use this method to reach the NM title without ever getting a coach to tell me what I’m doing wrong.

What openings do you reccomend?

TitledNotTilted

What things (books, studying habits etc) should I avoid as I start to dedicate more time to classical and rapid chess this summer?

Goal is 2000-2100 this summer

Train everyday. Do tactics, read chess books, play the variations over the board. Analyze your losses
