No idea but they have been around for a long time.
what do tou think of the stringoy-khatzen defense? i had to look it up but had a player come back to a draw from being way behind using it. very impressive!

Never heard of it.
"The French Defence is named after a match played by correspondence between the cities of London and Paris in 1834 (although earlier examples of games with the opening do exist). Whenever I play the stringoy-khatzen defence, I like to string my opponent along a bit, take off my hat, adopt the zen position, and when I've won, shout oy oy!

If you count the big one it should be an odd number
