in every tournament I've been in otb a larger audience is gathering around your table if you manage to play for a long time.
This is a good thing.
however the bad part is that the audience isn't just looking at the game.
Some look amazed,
some shake there heads if they think the move was bad,
some walk away and in a corner of the room begin to whisper about what they would do.
one even signal to my opponent that he should use his horse ( hard to prove)
once I made a move and because one spectator was shaking his head I thought I was losing and this made me very nervous. But afterward I found out with the computer that I made the best move - the only good move. afterwards he even said to me it was a bad move.
I became very nervous and started seing ghost and did not play well after that. but until this point I was winning and lost.
How on earth do we prevent audience from showing their reaction to the game or do I just have to learn to deal with it?
another thing that bothers me is people who decide to sit next to me and watch the game very close. nearly leaning over the board.
I don't expect comments on this post. I just needed to get some steam out.
because I don't really expect any arbiter to tell someone that they are not alloud to make a "reaction" as a spectator.
my 20cent on audience.
