automatic renewal

Anyoe else find it shady that chess.com automatically renews your membership. it should be an option. This is the main reason i havent bought prem yet. this is some really shady stuff charging you when you dont want to buy prem again

Not much to help. shady (i decided this would proabbly get edited out by a mod anyways so instead of putting the word i just put this messege) trying to make some extra moneyHow stop it you have to go through support then a bunch of links like what the hek this is the kind of stuff i would expect from one of those shady websites with tons of malware and stuff not chess.com

and by the time support contaacts u back its lalready renewed :) please tell me if im wrong as im rather curious. from what ive seen you have to go througgh support to cancel auto renew :)

i kind of admire them for their intellect though they could make  thousands without anyone noticing

so in order to stop auto renewal i have to cancel my membership early? better idea give people the option when signing up whether o nnot they want auto renewal o but wait then they couldnt scam people out of money how silly of me

Wait does that cancel that months memebership to or just auto renewal

I pay by Billpay through my bank. That was a problem again this year. it took 8 days past the time my account was up to reinstate my GOLD account I even sent them a ticket to alert them that it was coming to them so it wouldn't get lost.

Yes, they answered me in 24 hours telling where to. send it, as if I didn't know. TheY sent a canned response and I don't think they read the ticket.

Some guy named Matt asked me to tell them how good the response was. I selected the sad face. if they had a lower one I would have chosen that one.

When I paid before with a credit card and I tried to stop the auto renewal it sure was a pain to do.

So I blocked the card to chess.com. I also cancelled the card and got a new card with a new number.

THE CARD # they have on file is not active.

I don't believe that ERIK knows how bad the problem is, or he doesn't care. IMHO

I absolutely agree with you, the same thing has happened to me and I find it very wrong, too. And yes, there should be an option(I got the same idea immediately). Strange Chess.com hasn't fixed this after so many complaints...
