Award No Points for a Draw. So losing and drawing is the same. Award points only for wins.

That will get rid of the draw problem.

Like what?

So holding Carlsen to a draw counts exactly the same as getting beaten in twenty moves?

Count me out.

I have a better suggestion: why not just upgrade your own skills to the point where you can enjoy and appreciate a well-played draw?

Ah these ratist arguments are getting stale. Draws could and should happen. But when they are all that happen there is a need to incentivise decisive games, and saying that draws or loss are the same, says we care about wins. Everything else belongs in the dumpster, amply does that.

Under the current rules, winning is deeply penalised. You get no adv. if you try to win, over someone who looks to draw.

If you try to win and play 2 games both extremely flashy and win one and lose one, you get the same points as someone who played boring 2 games and drew both. Its ludicrous.

Take two players who both played 10 games.

Player 1 - 4 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeates =  5.5 Points

Player - 2 wins, 7 draws, 1 defeat = 5.5 Points.

How does that even remotely make sense. Under the new rules Player 1 four points, Player 2, two points.

Atleast make draws 1/4th as rewarding as a win.

That way player 1= 4.75 points.

Player 2 = 3.75 points.

There are plenty of ways to improve this. However saying you are too stupid to understand draws doesn't improve the situation at all.

if anything, draws should get zero points. nobody won, as opposed to both won.

What draw problem, there is no draw problem.

Draw  shares the lose equally

Any person who is up 14+ and plays so badly they "Blunder there way" to stalemate should loose.

The stalemate proves they are above their level.

Think of it this way if you are 14+ and your opponent was left with no legal moves and you left him/her with no legal moves and no check your Blunder no mater how rated

there is no problem. they play to become the new champion, not to entertain you. saying there is a "draw-problem" is a selfish view on it
