justbefair I was looking for some assistance in figuring out how to decipher it but I think I’ve got it sorted now. I bought it because I am hoping to improve my opening game without realising it was a reference book rather than a ‘self-help’ manual.

TwelveAngryPatzers, I think the only difference is the edition or publisher…perhaps your edition is from a different publisher? My copy is also by Nick de Firmian but has a different cover to yours.
