battery

In some of the lessons was mentioned a 'battery' suggesting a certain type of move. What is it?

DimKnight

Without more information it's hard to be exact, but what the lesson may be referring to is the lining up of rooks and queens, especially on an open file. For example, Re1-Qe2-Re3.

Does this make sense in the context of your lesson?

Yes, or queen and bishop on a diagonal is also a battery.

Basically a battery is more than one force (i.e. 2 pieces +) attacking on the same file or diagonal.
