Good game. I don't care how you legitimately won; a win is a win and that was a strong opponent. As of now, I've only beaten 1950-ish players in rated games, but never won against an opponent as high as what you just won there - good game  (although I have won a few against tougher opponents in unrated games). That was solid play on your part and the win was well earned.

On a side note, what was this tactic that gives them the outpost I wonder? Whenever you sacrifice material, you must ask yourself: "What happens if my opponent takes it?" I think your opponent just dropped a piece and didn't want to admit it was that simple. xD

Thanks! Yeah, I too have beaten 2200+ players in unrated matches.

Yeah, he probably just didn't see the pawn. It happens.

No disrespect SCM, but how serious was he taking the game?

Maybe he wasn't so motivated...

Not sure but we both got CAPS scores over 80.

I played a game that showed a caps of 96.3- supposedly 2400+ level OTB play.  I was so proud of myself so I posted it and then a bunch of people posted that caps doesn't mean much at all and let all the wind out of my sails frustrated.png.  They seem to prefer the regular computer analysis.  I have to concur with them though as I have had games with mistakes and innaccuracies that rated higher caps scores than games that show 0 mistakes and inaccuracies.

The nice thing about the regular computer analysis is that it shows which move is what and why.  CAPs is just a mystery quotient- you cant actually gleam anything useful from it as there is no breakdown of how it was calculated.

superchessmachine, the real question is if he hadn't resigned after he'd blundered, would you be able to pull out the win? Because honestly I think you just won because he blundered. Then again, I probably shouldn't be talking lol

I had that EXACT same thought. So I played it against Stockfish Level 10 and won.

Oh, okay. Well, then nice job!
