Beginner against an opponent who brings queen out early

I know that these are supposed to be the easiest opponents but I struggle against them. He first played e4 so I responded with c5. His next move was queen to h5.

I'm not asking what to do for this specific game, more just tips on how to deal with these opponents for future games.

Thanks

Just keep developing your pieces and attack the queen at the same time. If the opponent keeps his queen in the centre of the board keep chasing her around with your minor pieces. The opponent will waste alot of moves making his queen safe then focus your attack on his king or the weak squares. I hope this helps.

Yes thanks, so I will just continue as a would normally while attacking his queen.

Yeah, first of all, make an effort to see what it's attacking. The early queen adventure mainly relies on you eventually missing a threat.

If there is a threat, try to find multiple ways to defend it. Don't play the first defense you find.

Among all possible defenses, ideally you're able to play a move that you want to play anyway (develop pieces, control the center with pawns, castle your king). Even so, sometimes you'll be forced to play a passive defending move (moving the same piece twice, moving a piece backwards, playing a pawn move that doesn't help control the center).

If their move has no threat, then yes, just keep developing normally. The result will be they've lost a few moves, and in the middlegame you'll have better development. Rarely will you be able to "punish" (as in win material) a bad opening before move 10. (Most beginners become over eager and try to look for wins immediately).
