Learn the rules of chess, learn how pieces move, and learn how a chess board is positioned. Now, openings. Not matter if you have the black or white pieces, these series of moves will prepare for the middle game. I recommend the French Defense, The Italian Game, and the King’s Fianchetto Opening. There is also 1.e4 and 1.d4 as your opening. Next, let’s talk about your goals. 1. Take control of the center: Push your e4 and d4 pawns to take control of the center. 2. Develop your pieces:Move your Knights, Bishops, and pawns to positions where they are active. Also eventually move your queen to connect your rooks. 3. Cheat Codes/tips : Here are some cheat codes/tips I use to help me win my games
-See my opponent’s pieces and see what they wish to capture ( Oooohh, he’s trying to capture my knight
- Always check if the square your planning to bring a piece to is defended. ( I can’t move my bishop to a8… the rook will capture it)
- If you see a good move, find a better one ( HAH! he blundered his queen… wait instead of taking his queen, I can checkmate him!)
- Castle early to prioritize your king’s safety.
There are way more tips, but I couldn’t include them, otherwise this would be 500+ more text for you to read lol. Have fun playing chess!
