Beginner or intermediate

If I am at 1300 on this website, am I a beginner or intermediate? I'm asking because I want to know how to study to improve.

There's no single accepted answer but I'd say advanced beginner. If you get another 100 rating points then you're starting to look like an intermediate player.

I found this link for you. If you think you're ready for it then why not give it a try?

Answer above is pretty good^ I do think 1300 is more the start of intermediate but that's just minutae at that point.

++ Most important is blunder checking. Always check your intended move is no blunder before you play it. Think about your move. Do not play it. Imagine it played. Check it is no blunder: does not hang any piece or pawn, does not run into checkmate. Only then play it. That little mental discipline alone is enough to get to 1500. No study required. Beyond that and up to 2000 it is mainly a matter of tactics. Analyse your lost games.
