Beginners chess software

Hello,

Newbie to Chess.com here.

I have Lucas chess and you can run your own games sort of based on a post I found here.

Does anyone know of chess software that you can use like a real chess board? I see puzzles like White mates in 2, etc. And would like to set up a board to look at it and try to solve it.

Unless someone knows out to pull pieces off Lucas to achieve the above?

Thanks!

Pretty sure you can do that with Lucas Chess

Thanks for the reply.

I found here on Chess that if you go to Tools > Create your own game, you get a board and can move around no problem. But there is no way to remove pieces and set up a board based on your own. I found a 3yo YT video for but that option is not there to set a custom starting point. I am on .

I then found this here:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/more-puzzles/lucas-chess-edit-poisition-is-not-working

So you can create your own PGN which allows you to clear the board then set the pieces where you want. And then do your analysis.

Thought i would share this to save others some time?

Thanks again!
