Beginning of Game Glitch

HI. After being away from chess for 30 years, I thought I would give online a try. It's been great. Lot's of  information and resources.

Our internet connection is sometimes poor and my opening move is not where I intended to point the mouse.  If I notify the other player it happened, what should happen? If the error happened in the middle of the game, there is nothing to do other than continue... Do most players restart or just go on as nothing has happened?

If you're playing White, you'll have a very short window (possibly no more than 1 second) between your move and them making their response in which you would be able to abort the game - although you get a limited number of aborts within a certain timeframe. 

If you're black, then each side will have made a move and the game must continue. There'd be no way for the opponent to abort the game even if they wanted to, although they could agree a draw. It's easier to just accept it and play on though.
