Being scammed by Chess.Com?

I know many people are happy with this program, however I feel as if I am being scammed. All I would like to do is to play a friendly game with my friend. Sometimes we are able to connect, at other times we cannot play. In order to be certain that I can play with my friend, Inearlier today signed on for a Trial Membership at the Gold Level. We still cannot play. The system does not allow it. Now I want my money back, since it is a trial membership, the system does not allow it. Therefore I feelmI am being scammed. Why is it not possible to contact Chess.com directly? Why are there not any detailed instructions how to set up a game? Harry Liedtke

They don't charge you when you sign up for a trial. They just pre-authorize a charge, in case you decide not to cancel. They won't put through the charge until the week is up. If you cancel before the week is up, the authorization is cancelled. There is no money to get back.

You can cancel your trial now if you want. You do it in settings.

I don't know why you can't play your friend. Perhaps one of you has his settings so that challenges aren't allowed from anyone or from a low-rated player.

It looks like you have played a whole bunch of games against a friend. Apparently, one of you has a bad connection.

I want help, why can I not connect to my friend in a reliable manner to play a game of chess., the only reason for my membership.  Since we are unable to play, I want to cancel this trial membership and the system does not allow it.  To me that looks like a scam. Harry Liedtke

It looks like you are the one with a bad connection.

Why not play daily games? You and your friend can move as quickly as you want. The main difference is that you don't need to maintain a live connection.

But you should be able to play each other, easily if you're friended on site.
