Chess Exam and Training Guide by Igor Khmelnitsky is the best book.

It takes a lot of time and effort to complete the exam but you will become a much better player for it.

Reti: Die Meister des Schachbretts.

Nimzowitsch: Mein System.

Larsen: Bent Larsen's best games.

Enevoldsen: Hyg dem med skak (Danish).

Because I'm cheap, I like jam packed books like 1001 Chess Exercises for Club Players by Frank Erwich. It can be purchased in Kindle format for $11.99 instead of paperback format. This is the book to get to improve your playing above 1500 ELO. The book for those below or above 1500 is How to Reassess Your Chess: Chess Mastery Through Chess Imbalances (4th edition) by Jeremy Silman. This is a huge book, and not cheap.

If you don't want to spend any money, just watch GM Kaspa or GM Igor Smirnov videos on Youtube. These two gentlemen are far more entertaining than Gotham Chess. If Levy were such a great teacher, why can't he train his wife Lucy to advance above ELO 600?
