Best chess engine that best mimics human play

Sometimes when i work away, i am in locations where i am unable to obtain any internet or phone signal . so i'm looking for a engine that can be a temporary opponent for when i'm in these situations.

i would like a program with adjustable ELO

I'm thinking Shredder 12 or Hiarcs but those programs have been around awhile and there maybe something better on the market

I am aware that playing a engine is not as beneficial as playing a human.

Many thanks in advance

Nothing is more human than HIARCS, except for humans. (imho) Smile

Try Lucas Chess.  The creator has been trying to create more human-like engines for a wide range of ratings.

May I recommend Computer1-EASY on chess.com? It very accurately mimics the play of a human who does not understand piece values.

Another vote for HIARCS but Lucas Chess is a lot of fun and free.  HIARCS starts at around $60.
