Because you get a lot of time to think, but at the same time it isn't and insanely long time control like 1 hour that I don't have time for.
Standard FIDE time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment starting from move one. That's my favorite. Yeah, I prefer OTB.
What is that, 120 minutes+30? That is really long, something I don't have the patience for.
That's primarily an OTB time control. If you only play online, you will mostly likely never encounter it.
I have played OTB before, but it was either with infinite time, which was a pain in the butt, or 25 minutes per person, which is pretty good.
15 min 10 sec incremint
trust me or ur b depressed when u lose a wining game on time

5+5 is a good time control. But i still like the possibility of saving a game because of time so I play 5+0. Although i lose winning position too.
15-10 is my favorite specifically
Same thing. 15|10 allows you to think while not having to play with extremely long time controls.
Imagine you are in a 1 hour game and you've won ( you got mate in 2) and your opponent stalls. Even if you report the player, you still have to wait for that much of time, which may make you insane. Here, he will run out of time.
On the other hand, If you're low on time then you could just play a few moves fast and get time back.
Actually you should try Daily Chess - 7 Days as well, people don't always use 7 days to play their move but the thing is you have extra time (just in case) and its a win - win.
I'm just curious. Rapid is the best for me though
