Is it possible to explain please why the computer recommends Rd1 here?

Because you're about to be checkmated and Rd1 delays the inevitable.

(The moves to checkmate are: Bf5 and Rxh7# is unavoidable)

P.s.: Oops sorry. You OPPONENT is about to be checkmated and cant stop it except by delaying it with Rd1.
