Try to check the center (e4,d4,d5,e5) and after the opponet moved then try to realise why did he move that move. And yes do puzzles because it's a good way to improve.

I've been trying to learn chess more seriously recently, but I don't really know what I should do to improve. I have been playing against lots of bots, watching videos, etc. I just want to know from some more, and better, ways to practice the game.
