Arthur Bisguier won the U.S. Open in 1959.  Also in 1959 he married Carol D. Collins, a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and the NYU Law School as well as a future real estate attorney.

Here's a photo of 30 year old Arthur and his 25 year old bride at the 1959 Open:

Here is a draw between Bisguier and his cousin, Raymond Weinstein, from the 1959 U.S. Open:

I've heard of Bisguier, but hadn't seen his photo before. He reminds me of the actor/producer/writer Ben Affleck.

(Didn't check the game *yawn* i'm sleepy)

He just passed away yesterday. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/05/us/obituary-arthur-bisguier-dead-chess-grand-master-bobby-fischer.html

from the article:

In Mr. Fischer’s book “My 60 Memorable Games” (1969), the grandmaster and journalist Larry Evans wrote in an introduction to a chapter, “Bisguier is the one grandmaster who consistently obtains decent positions against Fischer, only to throw them away for no apparent reason.”

I played him in a simul in Memphis in 1976 or 77 while in med school. He played white but would let you make his first move. I studied the Leningrad Dutch for a month and got the opening I wanted. He took me out of the book on move 6 and I resigned on move 24. He won 30 games and drew the two strongest players in the Memphis chess club. He was a nice man, and very professional. I realized then that I should stick to medicine and cut back on the chess if I wanted to pay my future bills. I think I still have the score sheet of that game in my personal file.
