Bishops. They control more squares, and move faster than knights.

bishops do not control more squares. Bishops can, at most, potentially control 32 squares. A knight can control 64 squares. Maybe you mean how many each can control at one time, not throughout the game.

Also, have you ever seen a bishop fork or skewer?

have you EVER seen a knight skewer?????????????

that's literally impossible both because they don't move in a straight line and because they can leap :/

ooh good point

JT2007

I still like knights though

annoyingtriangle

depends on the position

knights can be cool when they fork pieces and bishops can be cool when they sac

Bishops commonly fork and skewer, and again, knights can't skewer.

But knights are notorious for nasty forks.

Knights are more fun. But bishops are better.

Bishop = Open Positions

There's your answer (Disclaimer: only works in endgames)

The principle you have mentioned in other phases of the game as well, not just the endgame.

IHaveTHEChessSkill

bishop is worse than rook but better than knihgt

IHaveTHEChessSkill

so maybe 3.2

Nordlandia

Knight is notorious for forks in time trouble.

Hirun1

knights because of how they can cause destruction in the simplest moves whilst bishops take some time to settle in to a strong position. Still, don't underestimate that deadly bishop once and again

Bishops were considered 3.1 or 3.15 and knights about 2.8 but knights are dual colour and hence equal to bishops, depending on board position of course. A pair of bishops might be 6.7 or 6.8. A rook in a cramped position could be 4 rather than 5.

very true. not every piece of the same variety is truly equal

TwolakeChess

I prefer bishops, because its harder to see if the bishop is attacking any peace because it goes in diagonals. Also knights are more important in the endgame, while bishops can be used in the opening and in whole game.

Penfinder

Knight for me. It can be tough to spot some forks.

The bishops are more valuable as long as you have the pair but a lone knight is more powerful than a lone bishop, so I say they are equal.
