Bishop over knight

In the middlegame many of us are dependent on our minor pieces , there names are bishop and knight these are the main pieces in the middlegame . The knights is usually used in closed position  durning  the opening and the middlegame and they move like an L shape  . There are two opposite coloured bishops are there in the board one is white and one is black . They are used in open positions . So we should not trade a bishop over a knight because in the endgame positions are mostly open so bishops are more useful than the knights .

Sometimes a knight can be more useful depending on the specific position, especially if it dominates the board by being placed on a strong outpost (a square that can't easily be attacked by pawns).
