Has anyone tried blindfold Chess, if so be interested how you visualise yourself during play, Any tips on how to improve!? I do a little but find I struggle to do more than one game with quality play, have done two but then my quality of play suffers somewhat Any advice from others who have tried this! 1.) I tend to keep my eyes open when blindfold is on ...2.) I tend to visualise the board in my head in sections/Area's of play!? I wonder if one should be viewing the whole board as a whole but struggle to visualise in this way?! Anyone who has any tips who has been more successful than myself welcome your thoughts!!

"I do a little but find I struggle to do more than one game with quality play"
++ That is normal. If you play two normal games simultaneously seeing the boards,
it is more difficult than one game as well as you have to split your attention.

"1.) I tend to keep my eyes open when blindfold"
++ I close them. Eliminate sources of noise: as you do not see, you hear better.

"2.) I tend to visualise the board in my head in sections/Area's of play!?"
++ Yes, about 1/4 of the board.

"if one should be viewing the whole board" ++ No. When you see the board you also focus on part of it. Your eyes wander from one section to the other.
Likewise blindfolded your mental vision should also wander from one section to the other.

Begin by visualizing simple positions and gradually work your way up to more complex ones as you become more comfortable.

One of my friends can play blindfold chess, while you know someone tells him the move, she is very amazing for that and won every game of blindfold chess except some. She mentioned to me that it took one or two year to reach this goal of her. I am also sure that you can do it too.

So, my advice for you is to keep on practicing and you can do it.
