I do not play rapid and classical chess online because of cheaters. There are too many even in blitz; I guess the situation in slower time controls is pretty bad.

I guess blitz is popular simply because it is short and can be played in a cofee break or whatever. Classical chess if for me much more rewarding, but it is hard to find the time for it.
That being said it would be great if Chess.com did a bit more to encourage players to play longer games and that way make the step towards OTB tournament play easier. For instance, why are classical time controls not represented on the "Top titled players" on the front page?
Why do people come here and play blitz? Is it because of cheating, or no one is interested in longer games? I would rather play one 60 minute game instead of constant blitz games. I even see some highly rated players playing blitz and bullet and everyone is excited over it (not sure why)...
