Blitz, Bullet or Rapid: which format helps you improve more?

It works depending on the person it's weird tho cause you stop focusing on the time till the last second (at least for me) when I play bullet which is good cause that means I think more during other games tho that = more flag

Bullet can help you think faster, that's BS.

It can help you move faster

Actually your hand thinking for you is a huge problem for beginners anyway blitz helps you think faster bullet helps you move faster which helps in blitz but rapid and classical help with blunders (sometimes )

That's nonsense, i have been playing bullet and I am still losing on time, that theory of yours is BS.

I never said you wouldn't lose on time just that you'd move faster actually bullet helps me use my time in blitz so what tends to happen is when I play more bullet I get into more time scrambles so even tho you move faster you flag sometimes

I just told you, can't you read, i said I have been playing Bullet and it doesn't help with time on Blitz. I am still losing even though I am easily winning the game. I am so f off with losing on time, I have now come to the conclusion, I just can't think quicker and considering calling it a day, so stop peddling me that BS, you can't train your brain to think quicker.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to lose game after game, f on time, when in every game I am well up on pieces. I am starting to hate this game. There is no way to improve my thinking speed, so there is no hope of improvement.

@BigChessplayer665 hyper-bullet makes you hyper-faster?

Avatar of basketstorm

Btw I'm usually winning in 30 sec hyper-bullet and even took 3rd place in 30 sec tournaments 2 times but it doesn't help me to be fast enough in 1 min bullet.

These people have been watching too many super hero films. Apparently you can go from a Joe Biden to Quicksilver with a little bit of practice in ultra.

Your also a bigginer you don't have the right pattern recognition slower games might help build up a correct thought process playing blitz and bullet is kinda like throwing wood over a fire you might hurt yourself if you throw too much in it does help but when it doesn't the blitz and bullet is probably hurting you usually you need either basic opening or endgame principles (not just the ones for beginners) but more intermediate /expert if you lose continuously on time too much that means you don't know what your doing which means play slower chess until to understand the positions better

Autopiolate is most likely your issue which is typically the bullet/blitz trap but then again I see it all the time in rapid to

Your classic rating is 1341, you are a bit of a beginner at chess when it comes to classic, arn't you? Maybe all that time for you to think about moving a piece hurts your brain. Given that classical chess is real chess, I guess you will always be a beginner.

Again you just don't read posts. I said I am winning, up many pieces, but lose on time, so how is that a problem with my thought process, when I am out thinking out playing my opponent, are you daft?

blitz by far. all the top players are playing blitz games mostly online.

Avatar of LucasCaterpy
I like blitz 5 min because it gives you enough time to think for a couple seconds for every move.
Avatar of basketstorm

5 min sucks. 3|2 is Best. With 40 move game you still get 4 min 20 sec + you can go on with a long endgame. + it's fair because you need some time just to move the piece with your mouse, you need compensation for that. 3|1 might be fair too for online. Also 3|2 is officially accepted by FIDE

Just bullet 🤷 what can I tell you if your winning but lossing on time your not fast enough lol the only thing I found bullet useful for is helping you use your time (which also means more flagging)

It helps but it's not as useful for beginners

5.bullet time management + bad play until you break habit
