In a game G/30 which turned into a blitz game I played last Week at Windward Chess Club with only seconds left yes two knights worked nicely, but had I not promoted a pawn to knight instead of Queen that forked the King a nearby Rook and thus alowing a checkmate as the other knight was within range to prevent King running towards the center and running out the clock. But had position been slightly different a lost on time may have occurred instead of win by checkmate via a Queen and promoted Knight on black's back rank. :-)
