I do have to give the guy credit.  I don't think I have ever seen anyone here argue as badly/as much as he does.

Do you remember jason repa

Those kind of comments i dont even try to remember or hang on to.

That is one reason why the internet attracts people with low self-esteem and ego issues.  They can safely sit behind a monitor and post whatever they want.

What happened to Jason? Did he leave for good? I kinda miss his rants. Lol. Just kidding.

I'm not quite that masochistic, though

My suggestion to the OP…. stop worrying over who is or isn’t using an engine and just play the game.

Chess.com has its methods for detecting cheaters.

An engine player will anyway zip through the 1100’s and be playing Nakamura in no time.

I don’t care about the occasional engine player. If he wants to watch me play his engine it can only be because I am super awesome and a deity of chess and he must want my autograph if he so desperately wants to watch me play chess.

Its common sense,  I also haven't been ingrained with most chess myths since I only started to play chess 3 months ago.  So I have a more unblinded perspective coming at it more openly minded in more modern times.

More like Dunning-Kruger.

I'm betting he has a red trucker's hat.

Considering Coolout’s rating, I prefer my brainwashing.

I reported him to Winnepeg police and they assured me they were checking on him regularly. He was clearly mentally ill, far beyond Coolout or any of the other trolls that post here. He was a serious danger to himself and the people around him and regularly boasted about drug use etc. I hope he gets better but it seems unlikely. By far the most despicable person I've ever come across on chess.com or any other site. He still logs in occasionally on @Unfriendlygiant but doesn't post on the forums any more from what ive seen so I guess thats a good sign.

The internet attracts mental illness.

Well if he was worse than Coolout I am glad I missed the whole episode.

You said they studied,  study does not mean playing classical.  Study mean studying.  Studying past games,  puzzles, excercises etc...   And I agree lol.   One can study and play blitz all the same.  Playing classical is not nescessary according to your own logic.  You are in denial.

Of course GMs study chess. And you admit you lied about my saying playing classical is NOT the way to learn to play chess well. Putting things people never said into their mouths and ignoring their replies is par for the course for you. And then you wonder why your "revelations" never convince anyone that you are right and so few people here take you seriously.

I'm saying studying and practicing chess to learn how to play blitz well,  does not mean playing classical.    Which is what you claim you were ignorantly implying.  I don't expect to convince anyone from a 100 years of brainwashing,  but thankfully that is changing among the top professionals and  the larger chess communities.

Let me say it in terms you may be able to understand: GMs ALL honed their chess skills playing hundreds of classical otb games. Of course they studied endings (techniques developed in myriad classical otb games), learned opening theory (developed and tested in thousands of otb classical master games), and then learned how to apply their knowledge and abilities by playing many, many otb classical games vs strong competition. NO ONE ever became a top-flight player by playing nothing but blitz and bullet, no matter how much they also read theory and solved puzzles.

You still can't come up with a single example of my claiming anything other than what I have just said. You say something and falsely attribute that opinion to me or falsely claim I somehow implied it. Just because the reality of good chess play is beyond your understanding is no reason for you to continue to lie about what others have said. This big lie technique may have worked for Hitler (among others) but you don't seem to be as persuasive as he was.

An example of what?   The fact you said they studied chess implying that studying is synonymous with playing classical?  That was clearly a desperate attempt to put undue importance on classical and falsely claiming its the only way to learn.   Are you now saying that you  never made such a claim?   If so then thankyou for finally agreeing and conceding my point.     They simply studied and played chess but that doesn't mean classical is necessary especially if one just aspires to play blitz.

But just to reiterate the topic of this thread,  blitz games are better because they are more sporting.   They require extra decision making based on correct moves or one that poses more questions based on constant time pressure and the clock plays a larger role similar to other sports.  Its also simply more exciting and unpredictable for fans and players.

I'm still waiting for you to show me an example of what you claim in post #74: "according to you all they have to do is study". I never said any such thing, this is just another case of you making up false crap other posters supposedly say in a futile attempt to make your own baseless ramblings sound reasonable. I know that this was posted five hours ago, possibly beyond the scope of your memory, but if you wished to know my opinion all you had to do is look at my post that you just quoted.

It would also be enlightening should you be able to point out just one of the 1700 GMs in the world today, or any past GM, who acquired the skill to earn a GM title by playing blitz almost exclusively. You can't do it as no such person has ever existed.

Incidentally, the original topic of this thread is whether more cheating goes on in rapid here on chess.com, not a comment on the overall merits of different time controls. I suspect that actually reading what people have to say, rather than jumping into every forum you can in order to continue beating the same dead horse, is outside of your skill set.

Blitz is more popular online because people want to play a quick game in the bathroom. That, and it’s more casual. Quick adrenaline rush too. Less energy. Etc.
