I feel that players who are rated lower around 1100-1200 in blitz are playing upto the level of 1400-1500 in Rapid 30".. is my inference true..? Is anyone feeling the same..?

There are many people that are poor at blitz but when they play rapid naturally they have longer to think & their grade improves because they needlessly stop hanging pieces. Higher up in the 1800 and 1900s the rapid and blitz ratings usually converge because to reach 1800 you need decent time management something blitz helps with. If someone has a 1200 blitz rating or lower and a 1800+ rapid rating that is usually a cause for concern but amongst 1400 and 1600 players it is common.

The best thing to do is not to take blitz too seriously. If you concentrate on rapid your blitz will improve as well. However blitz is very addictive which is probably why more people play it on here than rapid.

I don't play Rapid much. I think I played eight or nine games early on when I started playing and stopped after I switched to 5|0 and 10|0 blitz, because I liked the faster pace. (Recently started trying Daily Chess just to experience slower games.) In my personal experience, it does seem like people who play both rapid and blitz are rated higher in rapid. I am, however, rated pretty low, so I haven't seen a lot of people above 1500 in either mode.
