Blitz ratings are quite hard, maybe a 100+ harder than Rapid. Not 500 though!

You might be right, not sure how it goes lower than 1500. But I know Blitz ratings are tough. I just like 10|0 since I play to improve.

I thoroughly disagree. It's worked for me in the past and it does now as well. I did fine OTB when I mostly played 10|0 online in the past.
In the end I agree with you that longer is better. But at least I am 1-2 steps away from the 3|0 that people seem to spam all day, even bullet. I think it's hard to improve a lot with just playing that.

Absolutely standard for someone to have a 300-500 point gap in their rapid/blitz ratings at ~1500. If you're a developing player and your blitz rating is close to or above your rapid/classical, you're doing it wrong.
