Thanks for asking this question, I've wondered about it! And, thanks for the answer, Rael!
Best Regards,
Steve
I had to block not a rude player but a violently agressive one after catching him in perpetual check. Its easy to block such unwanted players, just follow chess.com instructions.
Blocked players may also:
It's quite a convenient feature!
I would also recommend blocking those players who try to pressure you into resigning when they think you should. Not worth talking to people who want to impose their standards and ideals upon you!
One bad thing about the block feature is not being able to avoid these people when it comes to these forums! Oh well, I suppose no system is perfect.

Wow, you just can't let it go, can you?
I reccomend you also block players who let the clocks run out during a game. But please be sure that they are actually doing this. Only yesterday someone was complaining that his opponent was letting the clock run down. He had waited 5 minutes in a complicated middlegame with time controls of 30+10! The opponent found a very strong move and won the game. So please be sure!
Ditto that. Often times the opponent offers a draw in a completely lost position, and after you decline the draw, he refuses to move.
No, coach, we can't. Wait for it...these fellas have been having it out across multiple threads which have been locked. Maybe this is their new sparring arena. Nobody will offer the draw;)

I was just giving advice same as Rainbow was. Do you 'let go' of your beliefs and views do you?

Nope! That's exactly why I have Suggo blocked. Apparently, universal standards aren't standard.
So Rainbow, are you saying you blocked me because I was trying to get you to resign? Because we know that didn't happen....and I know you can't be saying that I was the one who wouldn't drop it, not if you remember our game together where you basically lost the plot...you do remember that don't you!!??

I really dont like being pressured to resign, I feel bad if i dont but still think i have a chance to win.
exactly.... rich. And so is this thread. My question was answered... "in spades".
soooooo.

May All of you have smooth sailing in all your games... I'm casting off.
Maybe this has been answered in this thread but if so I haven't spotted it.
If I block someone & they are placed in a tournament group I'm also in - what happens? Can it happen?

Resigning is a matter of respect. One should not play out a lost game unless the other player wants to. I remember reading an issue of Chess Life that was dedicated purely to this topic. The title of such was "Resign Already!"
I saw a great escape where someone managed to win against the odds through fantastic play in the face of being a queen down on material.
This clearly shows the value of not resigning too early. You might pick up rating points if you do not - and we know that you get $100 for every point you pick up on this site.

Is there a way to block (besides disabling chat) communication from a rude player? Some of my lady friends have complained about really rude pushy members. A side from reporting this abuse, is there a way of blocking players like this?
