bobby fischer
“Bobby’s biological father, Paul Nemenyi, was a brilliant statistician and engineer. There’s even a theorem named after him... He had prodigious intellectual gifts, but he also had psychological troubles.”
Sadly mental illness runs in some families just as cancer or other diseases are passed on to the next generation. Its pretty well documented Fischer seemed to suffer some of the same pshchological problems his father had.

why did tha greatest chess master went insane?
Fischer was not the greatest chess player. He was incapable of playing under NORMAL tournament conditions - See 1972. He had problems facing the French Defense and then proceeds to doubt the soundness of the Winawer when he couldn't beat Uhlmann. Lost in Buenos Aires in 1960 and barely drew him in another, I believe 1961 but unsure of the date of that one. People overrated him because of his 2 impressive games against the Byrne Brothers. One a 21 move win with black, the other the infamous Queen sacrifice on move 17 when he plays ...Be6. Sure he was better than any of us losers, But he was not the greatest chess master by any stretch of the imagination. American-based sites like chess.com just overrate him because he was American. If he were Russian, you wouldn't hear the same hype.

well i got the best answers but do you know why i asked i wanted to make that everyone still remembers him in their heart

he was such a great player his moves were counted as book moves we have such difficulties in learning book moves and he made them on the chess board

Fischer the most psychological FRAGILE World Champion of all time. Could not handle conditions that he could not control. All the conditions he demanded had to tilt towards his fragility.

complete lunacy / drivel. the Soviets believed, even back when Bobby was only a teenager, that he would become world champion one day. considering that at the time the Soviets had the most prestigious chess training academies and talent programs in the world, this is indeed high praise.

Bobby Fischer pioneered the use of physical exercise as a tool for training and discipline purposes. He set the bar for professionalism in chess and also raised the visibility of chess players in the media, as well as improving prizes for winning tournaments and Candidates matches. His efforts to make better conditions at events paved the way for future generations to participate in competitions without noise or distractions.

Never won a Candidates Tournament. Zero title defenses. Shortest real title reign (Tal was rigged). Ran from Karpov all his life. FRAGILE

1. Only person to go undefeated in a U.S. Chess Championship
2. He played the U.S. Chess Championship 8 times, winning all 8 of them
3. Created many modern openings
4. Swept match's with 2 strong GMs (Mark Taimanov and Bent Larson) with 6-0 scores
5. Held the longest winning streak in the history of chess with a streak of 20 games won
6. Became the youngest GM at the age of 15
7. By the time Bobby Fischer played in the 1972 World Championship match, he was an astonishing 125 Elo points above the 2nd highest rated player, Boris Spassky
I have my doubts about some of these, especially #1 and #5…
