Dozens of previous threads on this and the nice thing is that they're archived. See that box in the upper right that says "search forums"? Type in "beginner book" or something similar. Everyone loves to recommend their favorite books. Also check out Coach Heisman's site at danheisman.com where he has books listed by type and skill level. Or just say screw it, pony up $100 for diamond membership and study the Chess Mentor and watch videos.
Books Aimed at Skill Level

Oh, sorry, thanks! :P
I've been considering getting a premium membership for a while but I'm not sure I' that serious about chess yet.
The books I've found generally focus on whether you're skill level is beginner, intermediate or advanced. I'm only rated at 1200 (ish), so I'm assuming I should be looking for beginner books, right? Which books would people recommend?
Also, are there any books that are aimed at people of specific class ratings?
