Borislav Ivanov is BACK!

I feel like at this point, anyone stupid enough to play him deserves to lose...

I believe if you forfeit by not showing up it doesn't affect your rating... of course if you're a professional who wanted to win some money this is not a good solution.

It was a surprise to me that GM Campora (Argentina, 56 y.o.) wanted to play against him, maybe he tought that he could win against the computer...

an interesting sentiment here.

if all available evidence is pointing to certain specific circumstances/conditions being heavily disadvantageous (bordering on the absurd), why engage?

you would first have to find a way to somehow nullify these specific conditions/circumstances so that they no longer play any role.

if it's not a level playing field, then it's just foolish to go into battle no?

JohnnyKGB

he won again !!!! against  Grigoryan Karen H. (2604)

He'll be playing a 2600 GM today. It will be interesting to see if he turns on the shoe, or throws the game to look legit.

Just to be clear, he's not limited to one method. If he were to be checked, it should be thorough.

There could be other reasons why he played. One is he might not have known about him. Another reason might be because he wanted to see for himself. A third might be he accepted the challenge since the tournament directors had no problem with Ivanov playing.

Mega screw ups like this explain a lot why that Kohai person isn't around that much anymore.  Totally unprofessional behavior.

Of course, that explains it. She's been faking her illnesses all along as part of the great ruse! You're a regular Sherlock Holmes.

Turns out Ivanov really is innocent. Someone out to frame him decided to clone his DNA and then planted Houdini in his duplicate body to cheat in all these events under the last name of Ivanof. It worked because Erik got confused and banned Ivanov by mistake.
