Did they delete the other Ivanov thread? About him retiring? Either I can't read or search properly anymore or it is now in the deep blue.
Borislav Ivanov is BACK!
There is not evidence of the crime, Ivanov is a victim of a corrupt system whose aim is to destroy the geniuses , this guy plays like houdini because he is a machine , the rest is pure envy, this guy have played many tournaments before withiout evidences, just big mouths and sore losers. Genius or cheater , Ivanov is the man!

... says the dinosaur

So the guy according the article in ChessBase had a device in his shoe. Wow. I would think a metal detector would catch the this. I'm not saying it is impossible but find hard to believe, to enter and recieve the moves with a foot.

So... there are all these genius / infuriated chess GMs having to boycott tournaments because of this guys stunts (which he has pulled 4 times now!) . Every tournament he goes to everyones eye is on him and everyone knows he is cheating. And only now we're hearing that he has a really weird walk....... ??
Are these GM's retarded?
Why didnt they film him walking weird with their camera phones?
Why is there no footage of this guy when he plays?
Because if you actually do your research, you'll find out that the other players were directed to turn in all such devices before entering the tournament. Kind of hard to put a recording eye on Ivanov unless the TD assigns someone to do it themselves. Of course, also keep in mind that the TD at this event is bending over backwards to give Ivanov every possible chance, out, and escape he could ask for. Had I been TD, I'd have hired a couple of thugs to grab him after a game of cheating, strip him down to bare ass, and then shove the cheating device right up it. He'd then be placed in a garbage can in the back alley. The cool part is all the other players would be cheering this, and thus, any police report would show that nobody saw anything.
+1
I also apply a no-mercy policy against those who cheat on me. Cheaters and traitors do not deserve human rights

Quite right sir, I applaud. A heavy doobie can work wonders!

if some one plays soilid moves dosent make them a cheater for example magnus plays 80% perfect accoriding to chess engines(he really does). But if you give a 1800 player this position wont he play 90% correct(note he is use to play positions like this has a time clock of 90 +30sec standerd fide ratting)

That was some serious police work by DCI Dugy, the 'thinking type'. Also how everything was a clue, and how impartial he was after being fed by codename Kiril at dinner to 'discuss' the situation.
What is even more impressive is that the last dozen series of articles were written by Lilov's trusty manager.
In Western Journalism, or in actual real-world journalism, they would all be skinned alive for this kind of amateurish nancy drew trash. But oh no! not good old bulgaria, the last bell end of communist fairness catching up with reality. (Not to mention the nationality of the website; but let's give that a break, I couldn't hear another one of those arguments).
The main concern here is how much applause all of this backwater hee hawing is getting as it is being peddled to everyone as the beacon of trustworthy reliable balanced and fair journalism.
Ivanov refuses a draw, and Inspector Dugy's school girl histrionics is what now passes for as another piece evidence....
You can read the rest yourself....just more trash.

like "western journalism" is the pinnacle of fairness and impartialness, lol! and chessbase isn't based in bulgaria, or i don't get what them being german has to do with anything...
can someone explain the points, because i feel i am missing something
[late edit: i can agree that the coverage wasn't too good, though]

i was amazed and fascinated about this topic, and thought of how he could have accomplished this "alleged cheating" and formulated a set of moves w/c would somehow go through all the security measures he went through for him to accomplish this... 1. a smart phone that is specifically designed to be a chess engine hidden on the soles of his shoes (w/ on/off switch to avoid detection) 2.wireless ear piece surgically implanted and programed to directly receive communication from the smart phone, (w/o its plastic covering) 3. shoes that contains buttons up, down, L.R, enter,& analyze, strategically placed w/its on/off button. he would then directly hear on his earpiece where his cursor is at and enter his moves correctly simply knowing the chess notation as he hears his cursors position describing where its at. after entering his move the phone would then inform him the best move after its analysis. am not saying this is how he did it, but most likely probable way he did.

Someone should pour some red giant ants on his shoes so that when he's been beaten he will be forced to remove his shoes. They will have to put CCTV cameras on the comfort rooms just in case he will remove his shoes there.
But I don't understand how they hesitated to get off his shoes !
And IF they thought that it would be intimidating to do it on only one player, why didn't they make a vote among all participants , that they would agree on metal detection for everyone, plus taking off everyone's shoes for all the remaining rounds ? Surely, the majority of players would have voted YES.
It could have been a good sample for future tournaments around the globe.
It was of course obvious to everyone why he refused to take his shoes off, and I don't think they had any rights to grab him and force them off him anyway.

loveyousoooo... is full of prejudices.

Not to mention the fact that Dlugy had to take his shoes off as well, which he willingly did. Ivanov freaked out when they asked for his shoes, even though he'd been fine with other searches that didn't get that far. It's blatantly obvious he had no choice but to refuse to take off his shoes, or they would have found his method of cheating.
I still shake my head in disgust at people that disregard move-comparison evidence, and write in to Chessbase complaining that Ivanov is completely innocent and being unfairly targetted. Things like this just don't suddenly happen to one guy for no reason. People can choose to be ignorant about that, which seems to be the case for quite a few of them.
These people are very odd to me too. I don't understand their reasoning at all. Not only is it actual evidence, it's also sufficient evidence, but some claim it's neither of these.
Using a remote computer was not possible in Blagoevgrad since:
"Meanwhile there is a lot of security, there are jamming and scrambling units placed on both sides of the hall, cell-phones are taken out, electronics are checked for, there are metal detector searches, for every player before every round." Reported by GM Max Dlugy, his next opponent who insisted on getting the shoes checked.

No electronic signal from the outside world could reach devices in the playing hall. The answer was in the shoes.
