bot difficulty? did they get harder?

100% this. I used to spar with Wally, now I mud wrestle and lose to Vinh. Brought this up with support, provided pgn for games against bots that gave impossible elo odds (2200, 2100, 1950 in a row with 1300 elo bot). Haven’t heard back since early Feb.

I’ve played a lot of the bots and my situation sounds very similar. I have beaten up to the 2100 bots and played casual games against 1600-1700 bots that were generally pretty close. Now I play a 1400 and I’m fighting for my life and have to absolutely lock in to win. Where I used to be able to blitz moves and win in probably 2-3 minutes now it turns into a half hour battle. I honestly don’t mind the change because it’s just a number. But I DO want an acknowledgment that they have tweaked the system, otherwise I’m back to my first month of playing.

You and me both--it feels like gaslighting. Just defeated Elena (rated 1200) who played "like a 1900" in back to back games. It's just a number, but if they have no absolute meaning, then what's the point in having an elo?

I’ve tried reaching out and I just keep getting this “chessica “ AI that gives me weird contradictory non answers. I don’t care that the bots are harder. In fact it’s probably a good thing they have made them harder. I just want a heads up so I don’t feel like I’m losing my mind.

I "defeated" the Chessica bot and eventually got to a human (pretty sure). Passed along everything mentioned in this thread, along with pgn. She said she would pass it along to the team that manages the bots. That was 3 weeks ago. Haven't heard anything since. Ticket is marked "closed".
