Botvinnik Appraises Tchigorin

Very interesting post. But it's worth remembering that the Soviet chess establishment produced a lot of propaganda lionizing Tchigorin and claiming him as the father of the modern, dynamic Soviet school of chess, while denigrating the play and ideas of Steinitz and Tarrasch--representatives of the "bourgeois" school. A good deal of Botvinnik's article could just as well been written by Nikolai Krylenko. And perhaps it was
Everyone of later generations denigrated Tarrasch, and it's still happening!! The early Soviet group of the 1920' s assimilated ideas from everyone.
