My favorite ones are:

Monty Python

the Peep Show

Jeeves and Wooster

Marion & Geoff

Nathan Barley

and of the panel shows I prefer QI and 8 out of 10 cats.

Allo Allo was repetitive, predictable rubbish. Mr Bean was cringeworthy and not funny.

IT crowd got a mention before Father Ted! Both written Graham Linehan, father ted is one of the all time great British sitcoms. Everything by Amando Iannuchi is fantastic too.
In my opinion the best recent comedy show in Britain is from north of the border, Limmys Show.

I'm Alan Partridge. Now that was funny.

Avatar of Nabium

Yeah, I'm Alan Partridge and Mid Morning Matters are funny.

Limmy's Show is original, and several sketches are really funny, but not up there with the best in my eyes.

Also Shameless deserves a mention.

Alan Partridge (or anything with Steve Coogan) and The Office are the best IMO.
