Broken bots ? DJ Ron passant, etc.

ELO rating of new bots is somehow very weird lately.

I already had this issue with previous group of new bots, but it happen again with the new valentine bots: whatever strength I play, the bot seems to play better than me.

DJ Ron Passant for example is rated "1350 ELO".

Here's the ELO estimates of every last games I played against him:

(my elo estimate -> bot elo estimate

1000 -> 1900
1600-> 1900
700 -> 2050
1650 ->2000
1150 -> 1950
1500 -> 1900

What the **** ?

Does somebody can explain why this so called 1350 bots regularly play without any mistake and very deep anticipation moves between 1900 and 2050 ?

This annoying behavior is something new for me, it was more consistent before I think.

Yeah many others have pointed it out. The key to beating Ron is by grabbing his pawns (its what worked for me) so you eventually convert a slight advantage to a win.

Thanks for the advice. I will try.

I played the Ron Passant-bot twice and I must say he blunders all day, especially pawns. I feel like he is so bad and I am only like 1000 rapid.

I finally beat it once and draw several times... we're around the same ratings...
Strange...

Fun Fact: when he founds out he's losing, he's gonna try to draw, an unworthy opponent.

Yes, DJ Ron Passant is a broken bot.

I usually play bots in the range of 1600-1800, so this bot range of 1350 I'd normally take for warm-up or for fun.

But he crushed me – that, with a bot of similar strength like Nelson (1300), wouldn't happen unless I'm completely messing up or drunk af, lol. Nelson (1300) plays crappy, unlike this DJ bot (1350). Which is unrealistic.

In my experience with bots, the DJ Ron Passant bot is
stronger than Isabel (1600) for sure (Isabel makes more mistakes, fewer strategic moves/precision),
but weaker than Wally (1800) (DJ bot generally plays a little weaker, makes more mistakes, although he can show similar playing strength).

Somewhere in between those 2 is my guess. Probably 1750 is a realistic rating.

Was there an announcement or something if they underrate some bots intentionally?
I'm asking because it happens frequently, especially in this rating range

Nine-point-Circle

I beat Ron Passant in challenge mode on my first try.
