Bughouse encourages creative gameplay and requires much less opening prep compared to standard chess, so I wonder if chess.com could introduce a new variant by merging the ideas of bughouse and chess 960 together where both boards would start with a (same) random position.
I think some starting positions would favour white heavily, but it's the same for both boards, so it's even stevens. Also, it would be very chaotic in general, but would also be a fun-filled journey for a bug enthusiast.
I don't know whether this has been suggested in the past, but what are your thoughts on this? Are there any obvious loopholes in this idea? I think this is an idea worth considering, since chess.com features a large number of interesting chess variants and it would be great to have a new addition to the list!
