   The Dutch Reformation sounds interesting.

Interesting to see what non Christians believe is Christian.

Lutherans we’re part of the Reformation as well so that modern Germany?

Any German openings are defenses?

I play the Catalan and there must be a cathedral in Catalan so that counts. Plus it’s in my repertoire already so you cannot take it away.

Hypermodern Chess because they favour bishops.

   The Chalice of Promotion.?

Nice sermon, re the checkmate painting.

About this openings idea of mine, maybe I will just play the Bishop's Opening as white and give up on this idea for black.

So far, I am finding the Benoni too difficult to play.

The pawn structure of the Dutch is not much better.

I am also not doing well with the St George.

Regarding the English, I used to play it now and again. But then I found the Bishop's Opening. The Bishop's is ideal for blitz. The Urusov Gambit, for example. A computer can equalise but not necessarily a human on a clock.

Anyway, moving on.

The Ruy Lopez was a Christian priest so that's a biggie.
It has the St. Petersburg variation.

There's also the St. Patrick’s Attack in the Caro-Kann.

The St. George Defense is fine and definitely sounds the most Christian.

You just have to invent a few lines. I'd like the Jah Variation.

The Ox and Donkey Variation where you bring both knights out (maybe in the Black Knight's Tango?)

The Three Wise Men Variation where you bring out both bishops after playing the bong cloud (yes, it will be a mess. But then again, when you come visit a childbirth that's what you get)

Or the Joseph Smith Variation (also for black of course).
